Good morning campers, how on earth are you?!
I don’t know about you, but Sundays are my favourite. I love the laid back vibes and the opportunity to catch up with friends and family before the pre-Monday dread kicks in (if I’m being honest I usually get the dread by 10pm Friday night…but what can you do?)
Today, one of my besties and I traded in a day of raving for behaving and decided to venture to Abergavenny for a coffee.
I should pause here and say that I feel my blog title is becoming a *bit* deceiving, in that this girl appears to be more About The Valleys these days. That’s because I’ve moved back to my home town for a little while….but that’s a blog for a different day!
I’m not sure that Girl Within a 40 mile radius of Cardiff is as catchy though so can we all just go with it and expand our horizons and enjoy the variety of locations within the South Wales Valleys area and possibly beyond? Thanks hons.
Anyway Abergavenny….it’s so beautiful! If you haven’t been before, it basically looks like a quaint little toy town, surrounded by stunning green hills. Dreamy.
We decided to pop to a little independent shop called The Coffee Pot.
I had an iced cappuccino and my friend had a flat white.
I also got tempted in to buying homemade cake by the barista EVEN THOUGH I’m trying to be good (to put this in to perspective…yesterday I was trying to be good and I ate a McDonalds wrap, a ham and cheese toastie with chips and pasta carbonara so …yeah).
We shared a summer fruit crumble as recommended (there were so many lovely looking home made cakes that I couldn’t pick) and it was just lush!
Also….my friend’s flat white had a bear on it and I don’t think you can wish for more than that on a Sunday to be honest?
The staff were super friendly: good vibes all around.
So, if you want somewhere to while away your Sunday morning over a coffee and the paper, or to catch up with friends followed by a stroll about the shops and market, this is the place for you.
Happy Sunday Hons.
